Thrift Store

Kindred Souls United will be based around our community aid center. We want to provide the people of our community with free/low cost items that will help them in their time of need. We will have a small private thrift store so we will not be able to take large items but we can find people in need and have it delivered to them. Also available will be a local artisan corner in which to support local community small businesses. We will provide clean and non damaged items. All money made from the thrift shop excluding the artisans corner, will be used to run the center.

Brian's Wish, The Veterans Project

The vision for Kindred Souls United Community Aid Center non-profit is to have a place in the Jacksonville NC community where anyone who has fallen on hard times, difficult times, and times of need have a community of neighbors that will gather to help each other by any means. To have a space where people in need can afford to get what they may need for whatever situation they are in without judgment and given compassion we all deserve. It is about the community coming together to help one another in ways of gift or barter to support small local businesses and artisans to build a stronger community.

Our thrift shop will also be our community aid center, not just a thrift shop but we will offer free classes and events for all community members and locals within our area. Our community aid center will offer many programs, a thrift store, food pantry, barter and trade, free trade and hobby classes for kids and adults, the Sunday family dinner project, organic gardening and plants for the community, Veterans & Seniors care project, homeschool trade & economic program, farmers market and many more.

Today more than ever we need to come together and help each other any way we can and our community aid center will provide the place for all to gather and plan great things for our community and be an inspiration to others.

Barter & Trade

Kindred Souls United works with people of the local community to bring them together and exchange goods and services without the use of money.

We will have monthly farmers markets where it is no cost to come, you can bring your items and work together to discuss trade for trade. Trades can be of items or services, you may not have the money for something, but you can trade it with providing a service tin exchange.

Food Pantry

Kindred Souls United will have a small pantry for anyone who needs it. Just come on by and see us!

We will also work with Families, Veterans and Seniors who are in need of help with nutrition, food preparation and other food services that can help their situation. These services will be addressed on a personal level, and any help we can give will be given.

We accept any donations of food that you can give, and will make sure our community gets all they need. Thank you to all who donate you are loved and appreciated!

Community Farm Stand

One of our focuses is to offer the community organic, non GMO vegetables and herbs that will be grown here, and maintained by volunteers and myself. The farm stand will have vegetables, eggs, canned goods, plants, baked goods and more all depending on the donations. These items will be available for the community at a very low cost and or donation to the Mutual aid center. We would like to educate the community and others the importance of eating healthy with home grown vegetables and herbs, the benefits of herbal medicine and the knowledge in how to cook and prepare great meals.

Low Cost/Free Tool Rental

Kindred Souls United has many tools that can be rented for a very low amount or even free for whoever may need them but can't afford to buy them

From power tools to gardening tools and everything in between. If you have a job that need to be done that needs larger equipment, please contact us for more info on how we can help. We work with great people in the area who will work with your budget or cand do a barter/trade..

We would like to keep this a free service so any and all donations are greatly appreciated and welcomed.

Organic plants & gardening classes for the community

Starting around February of 2024 I will begin starting a small collection of organic seeds and plant them for the up-coming season. 

These plants will be available free of charge to all of the community who would like to start their own organic, non gmo and pesticide free gardens.. We will also hold classes on how to plant and garden.

We are accepting all types of seeds and containers to kick this off for the spring of 2024.

 Create and Sell Program

Kindred Souls United offers free classes to the community to have the opportunity to come in and learn a craft from our local artisans, encouraging people to follow dreams and passions.

Each month we will have a crafters market where we will feature and sell all our crafters items. Each crafter will receive 100% of their earnings. Classes and market is for kids and adults.

Soup For the Souls Sundays

"Soup for the Soul Sundays" where we will deliver homemade soup care packages filled with goodies donated by the community and deliver them to Veteran seniors and Veterans with limited or no mobility and brighten up their day with homemade food and great conversation. We need to look after our Veterans as a community, and they looked out for us and fought for our freedom.
